I just had a thought I wanted to share.
If we were to change the oil in out vehicles and save it in a barrel, is it conceivable to use the spent oil in home heating? I have to wonder if this is a resource that has been overlooked.
I have the plans to make a oil burning furnace some ware I will find the link and post it in this thread when I do. Its not hard at all and it burns any type of heavy oil such as used motor oil. hydraulic oil. You could even burn veggy oil in it if you can keep it from getting thick while being stored waiting to be burnt.

You can add up to 10% ethanol alcohol (grain alcohol) to prevent gelling in cold weather, also if you find a tank heater or line heater our of a new diesel Pickup you can install it in your tank. You should be able to find them in a junk yard.

You can use the old heating oil furnaces, basically diesel, all you have to do is adjust the hole In the fuel bowl, kind of like on a carburetor to allow larger drops. Unfortunately using used oil can be a health problem with additives to oil such as zincs the smoke can be very toxic unless you can get the heat very high, and most oils are commercially recycled anyway, that's why you don't see power plants run on used oil.
